Hurlingham Polo 1875 Equestrian Clothing Photo Shoot
Location – Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire
by Sue Westwood on January 5th 2021
I was asked to photograph a new equestrian clothing range for London based Hurlingham Polo 1875, at the impressive location of Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire. We were blessed with blue skies and unbroken sunshine, on what was a very special day as it was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding day. We did break to watch the duchess appear from her carriage so we could admire her dress and toast the happy couple.
I photographed the riding wear first, which consisted of breeches and t-shirts, all branded with the distinct Hurlingham Polo logo and perfect for the polo field.
Following the ridden shots, we did knitwear, which given the soaring temperatures was a challenge for the models. Luckily we had plenty of water to keep us all hydrated. The Hurlingham style team wanted a selection of clothing images without horses, to use for advertising purposes. I shot a selection of shirts, jackets, a dress and casual polo tops.
It took a full day to shoot, it was exhausting but the team, from the models, make up artist, hair stylist and style team were fantastic. The shoot went smoothly, the horses behaved perfectly and we managed a few dog shots too.
